Every day we receive enquiries from people with books to sell, single items to entire collections. We always welcome such offers. If you would like to offer us books, please do not hesitate to phone us on 01780 763033 or e-mail us at info@stmarysbooks.com with as much information as possible about the item(s) you wish to sell. Sending us photographs via email is always a good idea since it allows us to objectively see the condition of the books. Not every book needs to be photographed individually, a row of books on a shelf or laid on the floor will suffice.We are happy for you to call into our shop with your books (although if you have a significant quantity we recommend you phone ahead of your visit to ensure one of the partners will be on site to view your collection.) Don't worry about trying to discern what or may not be of interest, or trying to categorise in any way, and multiple boxes are not an issue. In most cases we are able to give an immediate answer, but occasionally we may need to examine items in more detail. You will be given a receipt for any books left with us.
We are also happy to travel anywhere in the UK and further afield to view large, quality collections and libraries etc.
Our fields of interest are very wide and fine, rare, collectable books on any subject are never refused.

N.B. Although we will gladly look at any book(s) you have to sell, we do not purchase everything that is offered to us. We cannot make a purchase offer until we have actually examined the item(s).
Valuation
We also offer the service of valuation on both collections and single books. We can do this for numerous purposes - for probate or for insurance reasons for example. We are happy to travel to come and see books if necessary and charges vary according to the volume of books to be valued and the time needed to do a thorough job.
