Uniformly bound in full tan leather with a single gilt line border to both boards. Five raised bands to spine, slightly rubbed and chipped - to be expected given its age. Labelled with black title band and gilt lettering, this is peeling off and chipping esp. to Volume II and V. The title bands giving volume numbers are completely detached from all volumes but the numbering can be made out. Marble endpapers and marble page edges. Volume I includes frontispiece portrait of Spenser and lxxvi pp of The Life of Spenser by Rev. John Mitford. Overall, a very good set, clean and bright throughout.
