A new edition in four volumes. All four volumes are uniformly bound in half tan leather with marble front and rear boards, gilt tooling to the spines with a red title band to each volume. All edge marbled. Volume I, xxviii + 384pp, Some rubbing and wear to the boards extremities with the top of the spine partly detached and a piece missing measuring 2.5cm x 3.5cm to the base. Volume II, xiv + 728pp, spine partly detached to the top and base with some loss to the leather at the rear, there is staining to the contents possibly caused by damp/water. Volume III, xiii + 382pp, rubbing and wear to the extremities with a small piece missing to the top of the spine and a piece missing measuring 2cm x 3.5cm to the base. Volume iv, xi + 368pp, rubbing and wear to the boards extremities, front board loose but still attached with a piece missing measuring 2cm x 3cm to the the top and a small piece missing to the base. A nice reading copy.
