Undated, presumed first thus edition of 1894. Beautiful tree calf binding with ornate gilt border to boards and gilt stamped vignette to front board. Five raised bands to spine with intricate gilt decoration, black gilt title band. All edges marbled. Endpapers marbled with prize bookplate to fep dated 1906. Binder stamp to front black Stoker & Son Leicester. Light rubbing to binding, particularly to spine edges, but minor. Top right edge of prelims has quite dark foxing, contained to the edge though and not present elsewhere. Remainder of pages bright and clean. Overall very good condition. 288 pp. A very beautiful and decorative book, perfect as a gift.
