First Edition Thus. Beautifully bound in dark blue cloth with decorative embossed detail to the front and rear boards and gilt floral pictorial to the spine. The cloth is in remarkable condition considering its age with hardly any wear with just minor discolouration to the rear. Spine very lightly sunned. All edges of the text block gilt and still bright. Yellow end-papers with slight cracking to the internal hinge however the binding is still tight. Small piece missing to the corner of page 3. Pages a little toned with the occasional spot of foxing otherwise clean throughout. Illustrated with full page frontispiece. pp. 175 + 35. Overall a good copy of this scarce title. With provenance from The Beeton family, from Major Beeton's family library.
