Hard back First Edition. Beautifully bound in full green cloth with decorative embossing and gilt titles to the front. In overall good condition despite a little bumping to the corners. Ornate gilt decoration to the spine with minor shelf wear to the top and base. All edges of the text block gilt. Cracking to the internal hinges however the binding remains fairly tight. Previous owners' large inscription and image to the front paste down. Pages are quite heavily foxed to the prelims and to the rear with the occasional spot of foxing throughout. Some of the pages are quite toned but the text remains legible throughout. Illustrated with full page black and white plates and several with-in the text. pp. vii + 552.
