Hard back cloth bound. No date, presumed first edition. Beautifully bound in red cloth with decorative design to the boards and spine. The spine has faded with some discolouration to the rear otherwise in good condition. All edges of the text block gilt. Previous owners' inscription and library stamp to the front free end-paper. No further library stamps. Pages lightly toned but clean throughout, beautifully illustrated with full page colour frontispiece and several engraving throughout. pp. v + 692. Overall a good + copy.
