Beautifully bound in blue cloth with detailed pictorial to the front and spine. In overall good condition, front board bright and clean, just slight bumping to the corners. Slight lifting of the cloth to the rear board. Spine a little faded with light shelf wear to the top and base. Presentation label to the front paste down dated 1896. Binding a little weak with cracking to the internal hinge. Minor closed tears to the margins of the text to pages 225 to the end, possibly a cut mark. Pages light toned with foxing to the prelims and tissue guard otherwise a good clean copy. Illustrated with monochrome frontispiece. pp. 256 + 12. Overall a good copy. Would make an ideal gift.
