Original burgundy cloth boards in good condition despite a little discolouration. Authors' initials to the front. Spine is a little sunned. Previous owners' inscription dated 1893 to the front free endpaper. Pages toned however clean throughout. pp. xvii + 272 + 55. Motivated by his strong convictions this was written as an attack on celibacy, the game laws, bad landlords and bad sanitation and the social system. The title was intended to suggest the ferment of new ideas.
