The complete and unexpurgated text of all the letters available in manuscript and the full printed version of all others. Hard Back. First Editions. Edited by Leslie A. Marchand. Eleven volumes only although all are in good condition. Dust jackets, bright and clean and showing very little wear with the exception of the first volume and volume six which are a little worn, volume 7 has a small piece missing to the rear. Red cloth boards with small gilt initial and author to the front and gilt titles to the spine, all in excellent condition. Top edge of the text block red and still fairly bright while the fore edge remains quite clean. Internally the pages appear unread with no marks or foxing. This set includes; Volume 1 1798-1810, In My Hot Youth, published 1973. Volume 2 1810-1812, Famous In My Time. Volume 3 1813-1814, Alas the love of Women, published 1974. Volume 4 1814-1815, published 1975. Volume 5 1816-1817, So Late into the Night, published 1976. Volume 6 1818-1819 The Flesh is Frail, published 1976. Volume 7 1820, Between Two Worlds, published 1977. Volume 8 1821 Born for Opposition, published 1978. Volume 9 1821-1822 In the Wind's Eye, published 1979. Volume 10 1822-1823 A Heart for every Fate, published 1980. Volume 11 1823-1824, For Freedom's Battle, published 1981. Overall a very good set which may incur extra postal charges.
