Wuthering Heights and Agnes Grey

Emily & Anne Bronte

Published By: Smith, Elder, & Co.

Written by the Bronte sisters. 'A new edition' printed in 1899 - just 52 years after the tale was very first published. Newly-bound in thick, quadricolour marbled paper boards and buttery tan quarter leather. Pristine internals with charming original book adverts to rear.

Condition is as follows.
Fine undamaged leather binding with gilt tooling to edges. Five prominent raised bands to spine. Spine features intricate blind and gilt decorations, intersected by two morocco titling inserts. Date 1899 to tail of spine. Both boards in fantastic unmarked condition. Slight tanning to title page commensurate with age, but no foxing. This aforementioned subtle discolouration is restricted to the title page only, and does not interrupt the text which is pristine. Bright gilt to top edge.
Overall this is a very solidly and finely-bound edition, and would make a really lovely addition to the bookshelf of any lover of classic English literature both due to its early age and visual appeal.
