Original white cloth boards with bright gilt titles to the spine clean and bright and with very little wear. All edges of the text block are free of any marks. Internally the binding is tight. Bright red endpapers with previous owners' small neat inscription dated 1997 and bookplate to the front free endpaper. The rest of the pages remain free of any marks or foxing. Beautifully illustrated with colour plates, maps and diagrams. pp. 406. Overall a very good copy. This beautiful book, destined to become the standard reference, should encourage and stimulate further study of this most intriguing family of birds.
