There have been printed of this Edition 1500 Copies for England and 1500 Copies for the United States of America, also a Large Paper Edition of 200 Copies and the type then distributed. Original green cloth boards with small gilt motif to the front and gilt titles and vignette to the spine. The boards are generally in good condition despite a little fading to the extremities, two small closed tears to the spine on volume one. Dustjackets are worn with pieces missing to the corners, to the top and base, and outer hinges of the spine. Staining to the covers on volume one and lesser to volume two although volume two has a pencil mark to the front. Internally the bindings are tight despite some cracking to the internal hinge on volume two. Heavy foxing to the prelims and towards the rear and the very occasional spot of foxing throughout. Beautifully illustrated with full-page colour plates, all present, and in good condition however there is a little foxing along the top edge of each plate. Volume one, pp. xvii + 244. Volume two, pp. ix + 240. Overall a good working set.
