19th century book bound in brown cloth with a gilt titles. Stunning gilt ship to the front as well as decorative chain bordering the spine. The rear is blindstamped with an eagle and stars. Pages quite bright with good sized readable text. Foxing throughout, not too heavy. A neat inscription dated 1848. Stains to the prelims. Name in pencil to one of the prelims. The binding is tight despite cracking to the edge of the spine which also has some rips (see photo). pp.xii+324. Overall fair.
