With Biographical Introduction. A handsome set bound in half tan leather with marble paper-covered boards. The leather is a little rubbed and worn with light surface wear to the boards, the front board to volume 4 has faded. The wear, however, is in keeping with the age of the books and is generally clean and in good condition. Internally the binding is tight. Green endpapers with a previous owner's bookplate to the front paste down. There is the very occasional spot of foxing with a little pencil notation to the first volume, although the pages are very clean throughout. Overall a very good set in a beautiful bunding.
