An unusual book which includes the Acts of Stephen as well as the main text on the history of England. Full leather binding with fluid gilt ribbon border. Ornate gilding in separate panels to the spine, but much of this has worn away. Lovely marbled text block matching the marbled endpapers. Bookplate to the pasted down front endpaper as well as a small retro bookseller sticker. Pages are clean with occasional foxing and a pencil inscription. Front free endpaper has a few rips. Binding functional but with marginal cracking. pp.xxiii+442. Fair.
