Prize binding in full tree-calf leather with stunning gilt features, including embossed heraldic crest with rampant sea horses as well as Latin and English titles, and highly intricate, floral bordering. The spine has further floral gilding to 5 panels with the title offset against burgundy leather. Swish marbled endpapers with prize 1924-1925 bookplate affixed to the front pasted down endpaper. Marbled text block. Pages clean with a few stray underlinings in pencil. Tiny Bickers & Son stamp to verso of the front free endpaper. The odd mark internally but nothing large or obtrusive. Very tight binding. pp.xxxi+388. Very good condition. A lovely binding with really bright gilt details.
