First edition bound in cloth with gilt titles to the spine and a pair of gilt scimitars blind stamped on the front. Despite the ragged text block, pages are thick and clean with a little foxing. Full page frontispiece showcases bust of Lawrence. Further full page portraits and illustrations in photogravure by John Swain & Son Ltd are present throughout. Fold out maps by the Chiswick Press. Neat inscription dated 1935 to the front free endpaper. Small, unobtrusive marks to the boards and spine. The title page is a little grubby and it is clear that there is some cracking to the internal binding. pp.672. Good condition overall. A remarkable volume.
