First Edition hardback. A beautiful copy, this one has been re-backed with the original deep green cloth laid onto new. Bevelled edges with the front board depicting an ornate village scene and titles in gilt with gilt titles to the spine. The cloth is in good condition despite a little fading with discolouration to the rear. The pages within show a little creasing although free of any marks or inscriptions and beautifully illustrated. pp. 296. Overall a lovely copy.
