Hard back. In original bright blue clothbound, with small decorative design and gilt title on the front board. Spine is a little faded, with wear to the top and bottom. There is some damp wear to the edges of both front and back boards. The binding of the front board is a little loose. The front end paper includes a small impression from a previous seller, and a pencil inscription from a previous owner. The text is clean throughout. pp. vi + 206 + 24. Overall, a good copy of an unusual book giving a picture into conventual life in England's Catholic past.
