Hardback. Beautifully bound in rich green leather with gilt and blind embossed decoration to the front. Ornate gilt decoration to the spine and blind embossed decoration to the rear. The leather is in good condition with the gilt still bright, minor wear along the top edge. The spine is a little faded. All edges of the text block gilt and still bright. Internally the binding is tight. The brown endpapers show a little surface wear however they are free of any bookplates or inscriptions. The pages are clean throughout with just the occasional spot of foxing. The frontispiece and half title page are beautifully illustrated with further illustrations throughout, each page of text encased in a red-lined border pp. xxii + 456. Overall a stunning copy.
