Hardback. Beautifully bound in rich green leather with gilt and blind embossed decoration to the front. Ornate gilt decoration to the spine and blind embossed decoration to the rear. The leather is in a good clean condition and shows very little wear, light abrasive mark to the rear. The spine is a little faded. All edges of the text block gilt and still bright. Internally the binding is tight. The rich green endpapers are clean although with a bookplate to the front paste down and a minor mark to the front free endpaper. The front free endpaper has lightly pulled away from the opposing page leaving paper residue to the internal hinge. The pages are clean throughout with just the occasional spot of foxing. The frontispiece and half title page are beautifully illustrated with further illustrations throughout, each page of text encased in a red-lined border pp. xxiii + 319. Overall a stunning copy.
