Hardback. Four Books in One. Handsomely bound in full leather with decoration in the form of gilt lines to the boards, gilt titles and four raised bands to the spine. The leather is a little rubbed and worn especially to the spine although overall in good condition. All edges of the text block gilt and remain fairly bright. Internally the binding is tight with marble endpapers and gilt ruled dentelles. There is a previous owners' bookplate to the front paste down and neat inscription to one of the prelims. The pages are foxed throughout although the text is still legible. Illustrated with a frontispiece of Jesus Christ with several more illustrations throughout. Each page of text is bordered with a simple line border and the first letter in each chapter is beautifully illustrated, with a vignette to each book. pp. xii + 353. A lovely book.
