First UK Edition. Hardback. Bound in rich red cloth with gilt titles to the spine. The cloth has discoloured with a little splitting along the front outer hinge. Internally the binding is tight. There is some pencil notation to the front free endpaper, a previous booksellers' notes. Illustrated with various line drawings within the text including a frontispiece and vignette to the title page. There is a little discolouration and foxing to the prelims and although the rest of the pages are toned they are clean throughout. pp. iv + 245. Overall a good copy.
