Hard back. Slight wear to the front and rear boards, particularly the extremities. The gold gilt text on the spine retains a bright colour, but there is wear to the top and bottom edges. The edges of the pages are rather foxed. Internally, there is a pencil inscription on the verso of the front board from a previous bookseller. There is foxing throughout the front and rear end papers, but the text remains readable throughout, and the numerous images are clear. pp. ix + 287. Overall, this a very good copy of a book containing insightful and exciting narratives from maritime history between the 1860s to the 1930s.
