Hard back. Both front and rear boards are a little faded around the edges, and the extremities are particularly worn. There are a number of marks on the front board, but the small embossed design is still visible. The spine is rather faded, worn along both top and bottom edges, with a small nick near to the top edge. There is some internal cracking to the spine in the front and rear end pages, alongside some small marks. The pages are toned throughout, but the text remains very readable. There are a number of small pencil marks throughout the text from a previous owner. pp. xxi + 454. Overall, this is a good copy of a fascinating collection of essays published during the First World War by Church of England chaplains who served during this conflict.
