Soft back. The front and rear cover are a little faded slightly worn, particularly to the extremities. The spine is rather worn along the top and bottom edges, and is creased down both the front and rear edges. Internally, there is a small pencil inscription belonging to a previous owner on the title page. The pages are clean and readable throughout, with the numerous illustrations clear. pp. vi + 170. Overall, a very good copy of an interesting account of the life of St Gilbert , the Gilbertine order, and both the history of the village of Sempringham, and its priory, published to celebrate the 800th anniversary of St Gilbert's death in 1189.
