Hard back. The front and rear boards are both in a very good condition, showing only some very slight marks, with a little wear to the extremity. The front board retains a simple embossed band design and its gold gilt title well. The spine is a little worn down the sides, and especially along the top and bottom edges. The title on the spine, whilst still visible, is a little dull. The edges of the pages are slightly foxed, and faded, especially along the top. Internally, there is some toning to the front and rear free end papers, and two stamps from a former owner on the verso of the front board and opposite this. There is a small sticker belonging to a previous bookseller on the verso of the rear board. There is some foxing throughout the prelims. Whilst the pages are a little faded, the text and diagrams all remain readable. There are some small pencil marks on a few pages. pp. xiii + 223 + xlviii + 21. Overall, the countless illustrations and detailed writing by J. Wright Clarke, a well-published lecturer and technical instructor on plumbing, makes this a fascinating text, in very good condition for its age.
