Hard back. The front and rear boards are in a very good condition, retaining their striking read colour, with only some very slight creasing to the extremities. The gold gilt titles to the front remain very bright. The spine is very slightly worn along the top and bottom edges, the title still clear. Internally, in the front free end papers, there is a small pencil inscription belonging to a previous owner. The pages are largely clean, with the text readable throughout. pp. xvi + 286. Overall, a very good copy of this guide published by the Royal Historical Society, surveying the period from the Middle Ages to the Abolition of Episcopacy in 1646.
