Hard back. Front and rear boards both in very good condition for age, showing very few signs of wear, mostly to the extremities, and some very small marks. The front board retains its bright gold gilt text very well, as well as its simple pictorial design. Spine is a little faded, with some slight wear to the top and bottom edges. Edges of the text block a little faded. Internally, there is one ink and one pencil inscription both belonging to previous owners in the front free end papers. Pages are a little faded due to age, but all text is readable throughout. pp. 110. Overall, a very good copy of this text concerning the ruins of Calder Abbey in Cumbria, with numerous illustrations and diagrams, in remarkable condition for its age.
