Hard back. Front and rear boards both show very minimal signs of wear, with one small mark to the rear, and a little to the extremities. The spine is a little faded, but its gold gilt text remains bright, with some very slight wear to the top and bottom edges. The top edge of the papers is in a striking yellow colour. Internally, the front and rear end papers have an illustrated map of the Medieval parishes of the Isle of Wight. There is a small pencil inscription on the half title page belonging to a previous owner. Pages clean and text readable throughout. pp. xii + 320. Overall, a very good copy of this useful text about Quarr Abbey, a study which was the first to attempt such a full-scale study of the Abbey, destroyed during the Reformation, including numerous useful maps and diagrams.
