An elegant Folio Society edition collection of short stories by Guy de Maupassant. Front and rear boards show very little sign of wear, retaining their striking lilac colour and illustrations very well. The spine has a number of small marks and is faded. The top edge of the text block is in a striking dark purple colour. Housed in a simple slip case with slight wear and a number of markings. Pages are a little faded throughout, but the text is clear and readable. pp. xi + 320. Overall, a beautifully illustrated collection, by an author highly celebrated for his short stories.
