Prize binding, full leather in blood orange with magnificent gilding work of a crest blind-stamped to the front, tooling to the inner and outer edges, and an ornate spine of six panels, with gilding to raised bands and title. Blue marbling to the textblock as well as endpapers, particularly sumptuous. Prize bookplate dated 1900 affixed to the front pasted down endpaper. Sharp, clean pages with occasional foxing, slight scuffing to a few page corners. The boards have a few small marks to the rear and marginal wear to the top of the spine. pp.lv+771. Very good. Lavish, bright copy with amazing gilt details.
