Hard Back Circa 1862. Comprising Information on Laying Out And Planting Gardens, Fruit, Flower And Kitchen Garden Arrangement etc. Quarter bound in rich green leather with green cloth boards. The boards are rubbed and worn with some loss to the extremities while the spine shows some splitting along the outer hinges and pieces missing along the top and base. Previous owners' inscriptions as well as an ink stamp to the front endpapers with a piece missing along the top edge of the ffep. The binding is a little loose with the rear free endpaper and page 237 and 759 missing. The pages are lightly toned with the occasional spot of foxing otherwise clean throughout. Illustrated by many wood engravings. pp. viii + 760. Overall a fair copy.
