A true first edition, first impression Charles Dickens. Original erratum checked in the Bibliographical Catalogue Part I by Walter E Smith (p.129 line 1 no hyphen in "up-stairs"; also 193,6. p.288, line 7 no period after "Ralph"). Contemporary half-leather binding with marbling to the boards, simple gilt title to the spine. The binding is in very good condition with just a little surface wear to the boards. Internally the pages are clean pages with light foxing which is heavier to the plates. There is an indistinct Dickens' signature in blue ink attached to a panel to the title page. Illustrated with a double page frontispiece, one of which is of Nicholas Nickleby and several more throughout. pp.xvi+624. Overall a very good copy of a classic Charles Dickens story.
