Hardback. Sixth Edition. Clarendon Press Series. Presentation copy handsomely bound in full leather with gilt coat of arms to the front, titles and raised bands to the spines. The leather is rubbed and worn with some fading especially to the spines, volume three has some edge wear to the top of the spine. All edges of the text block are gilt and is still fairly bright. Marble endpapers with inner gilt dentelles. Each volume has a bookplate to the front pastedown one of which is dated 1905 with a previous owner's signature to one of the prelims. The binding is still fairly tight despite cracking to the interior hinge of volume one and a few loose pages to volume three. There is the occasional spot of foxing otherwise the pages are clean. Overall a good set of William Stubbs' constitutional history of England.
