Hardback. Bound in half black leather with cloth boards, titles and tooling to the spine. The binding is rubbed and worn while there is fading to the spine. There is some cracking to the internal hinges making the text block a little loose. Previous owner's neat signature to the front free endpaper with pencil notation to the rear. The pages within are toned and show some foxing although the text is generally legible. Beautifully illustrated frontispiece and half title page with several illustrations throughout. pp. viii + 495. Overall a good copy.
