First Edition Hardback. The dustjacket is in a good clean condition with just a little edge wear and light fading to the spine. Underneath lie brown cloth boards which are in excellent condition. There are a few spots of foxing to the edges of the text block and a previous owners' inscription to the front free endpaper, however the pages remain clean. Illustrated with black and white photographic plates. pp. xxii + 440. Younghusband is beautifully written, that weaves fine travel writing into historical biography in a glorious yet critical celebration of imperial adventure.
