Hardback, 1908 First Edition. Handsomely bound in rich navy cloth with bright gilt tiltes to the front and spine. The cloth is still bright and clean despite a little surface wear, while there is light shlef wear to the top and base of the spine. Minor abrasive mark to the lower part of the spine. The text block is still fairly tight with no loose pages. There is foxing throughout although the text is still legible. Previous owners' small book plate to the front paste down. Illustrated with thirty full page illustraions in collotype, Nine diagrams Of The Chief Routes and a Map. All plates are present and complete with their tissue guard while the map located in a pocket to the rear is intact. pp. xxiv + 330 + publishers page. The author was a mountan photographer, who together with his brothers made rock climbing popluar in the Lake District and other parts of the British Isles.
