First Edition Thus. Hardback. A beautiful book bound in red cloth with gilt pictorial and titles to the front in very good condition with the cloth still clean and quite bright. There is just a little bumping to the corners and to the base of the front and rear boards, The spine is lightly faded with slight shelf wear to the top and base. The text block is quite tight with no loose pages. There is a small book sellers sticker to the front down otherwise the endpapers are free of any further bookplates or inscriptions. Beautifully illustrated with forty full page colour plates each with their printed tissue guard as well as several monochrome illustrations including several that are full page. The pages are generally clean with just the occasional spot of foxing especially to the prelims and towards the rear. The colour plates are all present and beautifully clean. pp. xv + 326. Overall a very good copy. Some of the stories included are, Briar Rose, The Frog Prince, Rapunzel, Hansel and Grethel, Tom Thumb, Rumpelstiltskin and many more.
