Paper covers. 1939 Second Edition, complete with the original envelope with Holly printed design to the front. Pictorial white paper covers in good condition despite light wear to the extremities, the covers are particulary clean. Beautiful decorative endpapers with full page colour frontispiece and vignette to the title page with several more line drawings within the text including some full page. The pages are clean despite very minor foxing to the fore-edge. The envelope has a few small closed tears and light wear to the extremities. Overall a good copy. Would make an ideal gift. The Pied Piper of Hamelin has been retold many times, this one retold by Robert Browning replete with illustrations by Arthur Rackham.
