Hardback. Handsome presentation copy bound in full tree calf leather with decorative gilt borders and a gilt coat of arms to the front. In between five raised bands to the spine there is ornate gilt decoration and two title bands. The leather is in very good condition with very little wear or fading, the gilt still bright with no loss to the title bands. All edges of the text block and endpapers are marbled. There is a presentation label to the front paste down dated 1921. The text block is tight with no loose pages. The pages are very clean throughout with no further inscriptions or foxing, illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of Charles Kinsgley and further illustrations throughout. pp. 448. Overall a very good copy. Would make an ideal gift.
