Hardback. With an introduction by Andrew Lang and Illustrations by CE Brock. Beautifully bound in a rich green cloth with ornate gilt decoration to the front and spine. In very good condition with no fading and minimal wear, minor bumping to the corners. All the edges of the text block are gilt and still fairly bright. Internally the text block is still fairly tight despite a little cracking to the gutter. The endpapers are toned with a child's scribble in brown crayon to both endpapers. The pages are generally clean despite the occasional spot of foxing, beautifully illustrated. pp. xxx + 235. A stunning copy. Sir Walter Scott's narrative poem set in Scotland.
