Handsomely bound in full black leather with gilt pictorial of fish to the centre of the front and rear boards within a double gilt ruled border. Gilt titles and five raised bands to the spine. The leather is worn to the extremities and spine with the front board detached and the spine and rear boards detached from the text block. There is a previous owner's book plate to the front paste down with crude tape repair down the interior gutter. The pages are a little toned, in keeping with the books age, with foxing to the plates, however the pages are generally clean. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece of Izaaak Walton and several more engraved plates throughout, each with their tissue guard, there are several line drawings within the text. pp. lx + 418. Overall a fair copy.
