Stunning double volume of Halstead's Richard III, full leather with detailed gilt to the spines, particularly the panels. Gilt titles in burgundy with a seperate panel for the volume number. Gilt roses to each corner of front and rear boards, joined by double ruled lines. The marbling is to both text blocks and endpapers, really vivid to the latter. Inscription dated 1856 in a beautiful hand in Volume I, which also boasts a Portrait of Richard III as frontispiece, tissue guarded. Volume I panel a little rubbed. Volume I pp.xi+457, Volume II pp.xii+570. Very Good. Attractive bindings for Halstead's history.
