Hardback. A New Edition of Macaulays historical essays. In very good condition bound in full polished tree calf with decorative gilt borders to the front and rear panels. Ornate gilt tooling and gilt leather title labels between five raised bands to the spines. The leather has minor surface wear although generally in very good condition. All edges and endpapers are marbled with inner gilt dentelles. The pages are clean despite foxing to the prelims and towards the rear. Overall a very good set.
