Hardback. Handsome presentation copy bound in full tan leather with double gilt ruled borders and gilt coat of arms, Mary Datchelon Girls School, to the front. Ornate gilt tooling and title band lay between five raised bands to the spine. The leather is in good condition despite a little surface wear and toning to the spine. All edges are marbled. Marbled endpapers with presentation label to the front free endpaper. The binding is tight and the pages are clean throughout despite a little foxing. Illustrated with a vignette to the top of each chapter heading, and several plates throughout. pp. 382. Overall a very good copy.
