Hardback. Containing Meitations Among The Tombs, Reflections On A Flower Garden, A Descant On Creation, Contemplations On The Night, Contemplations On The Starry Heavens, And A Winter Piece. Handsomely bound in full red leather with gilt decorative border to the sides, ornate gilt tooling and title band bewteen five raised bands to the spine. The leather shows a little discolouration with toning to the spine, however the binding is generally in good condition. All edges bright gilt. Internally the binding is tight with no loose pages. The marble endpapers and prelims are covered with newspaper clippings and one small article bond within the book. The verso of he frontispiece has a purple ink stamp, from William Kipling Romaldkirk, as well as an inscriptions which reads " Bought in Darlington Market October 1893". There is some heavy foxing to the prelims and occasionally throughout, underlining to the rear. Illustrated with a protrait of J. Hervey to the frontispiece, illustrated half title page and vignette to the title page, plus engraved plates throughout. pp. 448. Overall a good copy.
