Hardback. First Edtion Thus published 1879. Beautifully bound in full rich green cloth with ornate gilt and black printed pictorial to the front and spine. The binding is still quite clean and bright although there is a little loss to the extremites, minor abrasion to the front and light fading to the spine. All edges are gilt and still fairly bright. The black endpapers are dulled with slight cracking to the front internal gutter. Previous owners' inscription to the verso of the front free endpaper. Light toning to the pages with the occasional thumb mark and spot of foxing, the pages, otherwise, are clean throughout and beautifully illustrated. pp. x + 371. Overall a lovely copy.
