Hardback. First Edition. A highly illustrated travel book from British Poet and author Dorothy Margaret Stuart. Handsome presentation copy bound in full tree calf with decorative gilt border to the sides and gilt coat of arms, Probus School, to the front. Ornate gilt tooling and burgundy title band between five raised bands to the spine. The leather is in a good clean condition with the gilt still bright, however, there are some abrasion marks to the sides. All edges are marble with marbled endpapers. Presentation label to the front paste down. The pages are clean throughout and beautifully illustrated. pp. 304. Overall a good copy. The work is comprised of fourteen chapters, with each chapter providing information on a different country. The aim was to provide information on exotic, far away countries to her readers.
